In another one of those incidents that have recently hit seniors, and others, a 93-year-old Anacortes man was scammed out of more than $3,000 in a phone scam.

The crew of the ferry Hyak Friday morning rescued a cormorant that a crew member saw get caught in netting at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. This latest incident has apparently prompted a decision to remove the netting next week, according to a spokesperson for the Washington State Ferries.

Those big tents in the parking lot at Cap Sante Boat Haven mean that another boat show is in town. This one is Trawler Fest, for owners of trawlers. There educational classes earlier this week. Now the 3-day boat show is underway.
