This is a paper cut named "Dancing Snake". It comes from a Chinese fairy tale. It is a sign of happiness and sweetness of life. The creator is Qi Gan Yin, Jiangxi Province, PRC Image size is a magnificent 20 1/2" x 28 1/2" !
Seaman's Chest, by artisan Donald Kreuzburg, of Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. The chest was constructed from 18th Century drawings and true to size and design. A faithful reproduction from exotic woods. Redwood, Padouk, Mahogany, Canary Wood, Asian Hardwood. Size is 31-1/4" wide x 17” deep x 12-1/4” high. The beckets or rope grommets are covered by overhand grafting of rope and leather. A one of a kind piece.
